Bio

My name is Denise J. Brown-Johnson. I am a fourth grade writing teacher this year! I have been teaching for 20 years old. I graduated from South Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I have also had the distinguished honor of being selected to be a part of a phenomenal society of women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. The sorority’s purpose is to provide community services and encourage high scholastic aptitude and ethical standards of women.  I received a Masters of Education Degree in Elementary Education in December 2001 and a Masters of Education Degree in Elementary Counselor Education in May 2003.  I was inducted into the National Honors Society, Chi Sigma Iota, for high academic achievement in Elementary Counselor Education. I have taught at Carver Edisto Middle School, Rivelon Elementary School, and I am currently teaching at Marshall Elementary School. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade. I am a highly motivated individual who possesses the intelligence, maturity, and commitment needed in the teaching profession. I set high standards and expectations for behavior and academics in addition to consistently monitoring and adjusting to ensure learning in the classroom.
